People always defined themselves by what they did. You were a hunter, a gatherer, a farmer, a factory worker. They called you Smith because that's what you did.
You were born, played cowboy, post man, and train driver. You went to school and wanted to become a doctor, lawyer or construction worker. You became an accountant, engineer or shop clerk.
You get up in the morning and go to work. You get a paycheck to pay your rent, health insurance, and feed your family.
You are being asked what you do for a living when you meet your partner, at a party, or at the playground. When your boss is happy, you are happy. A pay raise means you did well.
All of this is about to
vanish.
Artificial intelligence has arrived—and, like the internet, it isn’t leaving. It is already reshaping how we work. Very soon, AI will be faster, cheaper, and better at nearly everything we have ever called work.
Work as we know it will have no meaningful place for humans.
Are you prepared?
